Public Safety Department
The Public Safety department currently
provides law enforcement service Monday - Friday from the hours of 8am-12am. Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) provides supplemental
coverage 24-7 to the campus. Public Safety is responsible for protecting the
South Dakota Mines Campus community and the general-public visiting campus. Currently, Chief Doug Parrow and Police Officer
Rick Bartlett are the State Certified Law Enforcement Officers on campus. The Public
Safety department also employs two non-sworn safety officers and student officers.
The safety officers
provide 24-7 support to campus year-round.
