COVID-19 Information

The one constant in the Universe is CHANGE!!!

As we progress through this historic event, it is important that we continue to work toward both our personal and professional goals. While this adjustment has taken all of us by surprise, as Hardrocker students, faculty and staff, we know that we can overcome obstacles, and know that out of adversity comes opportunities.

With that said, it is important to note that there are times that we and our neighbors need help. In order to assist during these times, SD Mines counseling is available. From a counseling and teaching perspective, we know that people cannot learn and progress when their basic needs are not being met. Below is a quick list of community resources that are available. Some of these are statewide and others may be local. For students outside of South Dakota please note that most states social services departments offer similar resources. Additionally, community social service agencies can often provide assistance during times of need.

Often as American’s we pride ourselves on our ability to “pull ourselves up by our bootstraps” and we can be hesitant to seek assistance. In many circumstances, this view of the world is a positive and motivating perspective. However today’s pandemic is a time that we all need to come together and support one another. It is not a time to forego assistance that is available.

Finally, remember the counseling office remains open and taking referrals for assistance. Please feel free to reach out through the counseling email counseling@sdsmt.edu to schedule a session.
