The Mission of the Faculty Development and Advancement Office is to create a culture and support system that encourage faculty development and advancement from hire to retire by:

  • Recognizing and celebrating faculty expertise
  • Building communities of faculty across campus
  • Providing resources and development programs to meet the needs of faculty
  • Supporting faculty in becoming agents of their own career development from hire to retire

All-Campus Mentoring Circles

Mentoring circles provide an opportunity to share concerns, strategies and successes with your peers on campus. 


Early Career Faculty (ECF) Programs

A number of programs have been developed for early career faculty to get a jump start on their careers. 

  • Tenure Academy
  • New Faculty Orientation
  • Syllabus and curricular design reviews

Teaching and D2L Support

In addition to online help for D2L, Zoom and Ally, OFDA offers syllabus reviews, individual coaching for pedagogy and mid-term teaching evaluations.  Contact the office to schedule a meeting


Faculty Fridays / Lunch and Learns

 Faculty Fridays will be held during the Fall semester to present a wide array of topics by faculty for faculty.  Bring a lunch and share your expertise with your colleagues.
